Kits for Kids: Our 9/11 Day of Service

Twenty-five years ago, our nation lost thousands of lives on September 11. On September 11, 2026, The Blue Resource Table honored their memory and answered it the way 9/11 Day calls us to — through service.

Kits for Kids: A 9/11 Day Service Project brought together 207 volunteers, including 109 youth, across five days of preparation. Together, we assembled and delivered 380 swag bags containing fun goodies, hygiene, and school essentials to Peekskill scholars.

Thank you to Assemblywoman Dana Levenberg and Ashton Coleman, District Representative for Congressman Mike Lawler's office, for joining us. Thank you to the Peekskill City School District — including Mr. Kness's inspiring class at Peekskill High School, My Sister's Keeper, and My Brother's Keeper — for showing up in force. Thank you to Black Diamonds Academic Success and our own youth volunteers from The Blue Resource Table. Thank you to Rotary Club of Peekskill President Adrienne LaValley and her fellow Rotary members, who stayed long past their scheduled time living their motto: Service Above Self — and a special congratulations to Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, who brought the most volunteers of any group: 24 members on Wednesday. And thank you to Rev. Dr. James Perry, who led our Moment of Honor and Remembrance on September 11, 2026.
